3 Ways to Keep Yourself Entertained in an Airport

Whether you’re traveling home this year, or having to head away for business, traveling right now isn’t as fun as it usually is. With so many airports operating at limited capacity, many are a shell of their former selves. Many lounges are closed, restaurants and shops are shutting down, and in general they’re just less fun than normal. Chances are if you’re traveling, you’re probably going to want to implement social distancing rules to keep yourself safe. If you’re heading away and wondering how you’ll keep yourself entertained in an airport, here are 4 things you can do to make your next transit more fun:

1. Get a Book or Audiobook
I love reading, but I honestly don’t have that much time for it in my day-to-day life. Last year, in the midst of the pandemic, to keep myself entertained I started listening to audiobooks on Audible. It’s such a simple way to get more books in each year – I listen to them when I’m driving, walking my dog – basically any time I’m doing something for a while and can tune in. This is a great thing to do in an airport as you can pop on your headphones and listen once you’ve checked in, all the way through to boarding the plane and even arriving in your destination. There are almost all books available in the audible version, so you can listen while you learn something new, or get lost in a wonderful romantic story. The choice is yours!

2. Play Games Online
If you’re like me, then playing games is one of the best ways to relax and distract yourself from everything going around you. If you’re feeling anxious about traveling in the middle of the pandemic, playing online games such as connect 4 online, can be a great way to calm down your mind.

You can even look to make some money by playing casinos online. If you want to get started, but don’t have a lot of spare cash to put into it, you can check out these great minimumdepositcasinos.org for some affordable options. I always suggest setting a limit before you get started, as it can really be so much fun it’s easy to get carried away.

3. Zoom Call
2020 will probably be remembered for a lot of reasons – the random lock downs, most travel being put on hold, social isolating and distancing, masks… so many things. But one of the great things to come out of it has been the number of platforms that have cropped up to keep us connected with friends and family. One of the leaders out of the group was Zoom, which has allowed us to make video calls for free. Why not spend your airport waiting time to call a friend or family member you’ve not spoken to in a while? Depending on where they are, they might be suffering from isolation and your call could be the perfect thing to brighten their day.

While many people have mixed thoughts on traveling right now during the pandemic, for many of us it’s simply unavoidable. Hopefully these 3 tips help you keep yourself entertained in the airport so you can enjoy some stress-free travel!
